During the month of winter, juniper bonsai will be dormant and being dormant means the plant will hibernate for the whole winter season preparing itself for the month of spring and summer so that it can blossom. Juniper bonsai is not unlike its bigger counterparts that also need to hibernate. In order to hibernate, you will have to expose the juniper bonsai to moderate cold climate so that they will begin their dormancy.

You do not have to keep juniper bonsai too moist, therefore you can water them just once daily and it all will hinge on how moist the plants are although keeping the plants too dry are not advisable. Lack of sufficient water to the juniper bonsai is unhealthy and will kill them eventually.

Sunlight that is not too bright is more suitable for juniper bonsai and the direct heat of the noontime sunlight is not advisable. Therefore try to position your juniper bonsai to receive the early morning and late afternoon sunlight if they are kept in home. As well as, juniper bonsai requires a humidity tray, so always plant your juniper bonsai in a humidity tray.
